OPTI 922 Biting Solvent & Retarder – 66000 Series

OPTI 922 Biting Solvent & Retarder (formula T-922) does two jobs: it bites into tough, hard-to-print surfaces for better adhesion, and it retards drying to keep ink open in the mesh. Primary additive for the 66000 Polyurethane series, and a bite/retarder booster for vinyl (40000/43000) and hard plastics (10000).

It is not sold for household or hobby use, and it is not for any application worn on the body or involving direct or prolonged skin contact — no apparel, wearables or decorated textiles. Contains N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), a reproductive toxicant. What it does

• Bite: improves adhesion on tough, flexible and dense plastics.
• Retard: slows drying so ink won't set up in the screen on long runs.
• Use sparingly and test — too much biting solvent can attack sensitive substrates.

Safety, PPE & OSHA compliance

DANGER. Contains N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP, CAS 872-50-4), classified Reproductive Toxicity Category 1B — H360D, may damage the unborn child. Causes skin irritation and serious eye irritation; may cause respiratory irritation. Handle per the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200); a GHS Safety Data Sheet ships with every order and must be kept accessible to employees at the worksite.

• Pregnant or nursing workers should avoid exposure.
• Gloves — chemical-resistant butyl or nitrile (not latex). NMP permeates some glove materials; check the glove manufacturer's breakthrough data.
• Safety glasses — to protect against splashes.
• Mask — a solvent/organic-vapor respirator mask when ventilation can't keep vapors down (not a dust mask).
• Ventilation — use local exhaust or general ventilation adequate to keep vapor below applicable limits.
• Storage — keep sealed and upright in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from heat, sparks, flame and sun.
