20000 Series Epoxy Screen Printing Ink – Air Dry

20000 Series Epoxy Screen Printing Ink is a solvent-based, two-part industrial epoxy ink for hard, non-porous substrates — glass, metal, ceramic and treated rigid plastics. Catalyzed epoxy chemistry gives it the chemical resistance, adhesion and durability those surfaces demand, where a standard ink would simply wipe off.

Substrates & end uses — what the 20000 Series is for

An industrial two-part epoxy ink formulated for hard-to-print, non-porous surfaces that need chemical and abrasion resistance:

• Glass — bottles, containers, flat glass, appliance fronts
• Metal — nameplates, panels, treated metal parts
• Ceramic and other hard non-porous surfaces
• Melamine

Two-part system — catalyst required

The 20000 Series is a two-part ink: for full adhesion and chemical resistance it must be activated with its catalyst at a 25% mixing ratio (by weight) before printing. Mix only what you can print within the pot life. Need the catalyst? Contact us to add it to your order. Special note from the data sheet: mineral spirits will freeze the 20000 Series — do not use them to reduce or clean this ink.

Recommended companion products

Match your 20000 Series ink with the correct reducer, retarder and cleaner. Add modifiers by weight and always test on your exact substrate first.

• OPTI 976B Fast Thinner — the reducer for this two-part series. Reduce 5–15% by weight for smooth flow.
• OPTI 974 Slow Thinner / Retarder — slower alternative reducer for longer open time (5–15%).
• OPTI 999 Super Retarder — add 2–3% to prevent drying in the screen in hot, humid conditions.
• OPTI 902 Lacquer Wash-Up or OPTI 925 Mild Lacquer Wash-Up — clean screens, squeegees and tools (do not use mineral spirits on this series).

Adhesion on solvent inks is substrate-specific. Always run an adhesion and solvent-resistance test on your exact material before a production run.

Safety, PPE & OSHA compliance

Flammable solvent-based product — handle per the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200); a GHS Safety Data Sheet ships with every order and must be kept accessible to employees.

• Gloves — chemical-resistant nitrile (not latex).
• Safety glasses — to protect against splashes.
• Mask — a solvent/organic-vapor respirator mask when ventilation can't keep vapors down (not a dust mask). The epoxy catalyst is a sensitizer — avoid skin and eye contact.
• Storage — keep sealed and upright in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from heat, sparks, flame and sun; ground containers when transferring.

Compliance

CPSIA — Lead content. This series has been tested and complies with CPSIA lead limits: 16 CFR Part 1303 (lead in paint & surface coatings) <90 ppm; CPSIA §101 (total lead in substrates) <100 ppm.
